Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice
Topic: Cybersecurity and Political Elections
Committee Background Guide
Topic Description
In this committee, delegates will step into the fast-moving world of cybersecurity and political elections, where a single hack, leak, or disinformation campaign can shake public trust and reshape global politics. The CCPCJ will explore how cyberattacks, fake news, social media manipulation, and threats to voting systems challenge the integrity of democratic processes around the world. Delegates will be tasked with debating how the international community can identify cyber aggressors, respond fairly, and prevent future interference without compromising sovereignty or freedom of information. Ultimately, this committee asks delegates to defend democracy in the digital age: one resolution, one compromise, and one very secure password at a time.
