Maitri Shah
Secretary-General
Maitri Shah is a senior at Harvard College pursuing a concurrent Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science. Originally from Calgary, Canada, she has been involved with Model UN since high school, serving as the president of her high school Model UN team, and now competes on the collegiate circuit with Harvard's Intercollegiate team. She has also served as the Under-Secretary-General for the General Assembly for Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) Boston 2025, and was in Dubai last year at HMUN Dubai 2025 as the Under-Secretary-General of Committees!
Outside of Model UN, Maitri is involved with the Harvard Emerging Technology Group and is very interested in the intersection between technology, economics, and public policy. In her free time, you can find her exploring Boston, hiking in the Rocky Mountains, or learning to cook different recipes.

Steven Giraldo
Director-General
Steven is a junior at Harvard College studying Social Studies. He grew up in Medellin Colombia, but moved to Miami Florida at the age of eleven, which he now proudly calls home. At Harvard, Steven has served as the Chief of Staff for Harvard Intercollegiate Model United Nations, the university’s competitive travel team. He has also staffed both HMUN, HNMUN, and HNMUN LA as a director and crisis director, with his favorite committee being the college Ad-hoc. Beyond MUN, Steven is an opinion writer for The Harvard Crimson’s Editorial Board, a campus tour guide with Crimson Key, and an associate of consulting for Latinos in Finance and Technology. In his free time, he enjoys long-boarding, playing volleyball, discovering new places to eat, and spending time with friends. Steven is thrilled to serve as your Director-General, and looks forward to welcoming you to the fifth iteration of HMUN Dubai.
Raihana Rahman
Under-Secretary-General for Administration
Raihana is a senior at Harvard studying mathematics and statistics, with a minor in computer science. She comes from the greatest city in the world (New York City) and her family comes from Bangladesh.
She is excited to serve this year as your Under-Secretary-General of Administration; she also served as Under-Secretary-General for Administration at Harvard Model United Nations Boston in 2025, and is excited to bring a transformational educational experience to delegates for the second year of the in-person edition of HMUN Dubai.
Outside of Model UN, she is a teaching assistant for various courses, including data science and linear algebra courses, and is conducting research in Bayesian statistics. In her free time, she can be found reading The Odyssey, trying all the cafes on campus, and crocheting.
Malak Sannoun
Under-Secretary-General for Finance
Malak is a sophomore pursuing a joint concentration in Government and Philosophy. She is from Anderson, South Carolina but her family is from Morocco. Throughout high school and into college, she has grown passionate about International Relations and their effects on domestic policies. This excitement has lead her to get super involved with Model UN at Harvard. She competes on Harvard's Intercollegiate Model United Nations (ICMUN) team on the North American College Circuit. She also serves as Deputy Director of Logistics for ICMUN and was an (assistant) director at HNMUN Boston 2025.
Outside of MUN, she is the student manager for the Harvard D1 Women's Lacrosse team and serves on board for the Society of Arab Students. She is also involved in the Harvard International Relations Council (IRC), serving as Director of Operations for the Model Security Council, the recruitment branch of the IRC. In her free time, she loves exploring the city, trying new food, sipping on an ice cold Ginger Ale, and hopping on the Peloton!
She is so beyond thrilled and honored to be part of HMUN Dubai and is looking forward to meeting each and every one of you guys in committee and beyond!
Dhriti Vadlakonda
Under-Secretary-General for Business
Dhriti Vadlakonda is a junior in Currier House, originally from Clarksville, Maryland, concentrating in Engineering Sciences. Dhriti started all things Model UN her freshman year of college and has found so much joy in organizing Harvard’s MUN conferences! She’s previously served as Under-Secretary-General of Business at HMUN Boston & Chair/Director at HMUN Boston, HNMUN Boston, and HMUN India, and cannot WAIT to manage everything bizz-related (again!) at HMUN Dubai this coming January! She cannot wait to meet you all <3 Outside of MUN, Dhriti dances with Harvard Ghungroo, sings acapella with the Radcliffe Pitches, and conducts patient outcomes research at MGH!
Luis Pedro Chavez
Under-Secretary-General for Logistics
Luis Pedro Chavez, or LP for short, is from Guatemala City, Guatemala. He is a rising junior at Harvard studying economics and living in Adams House. This year, he is honored to serve as Under‑Secretary‑General for Logistics at HMUN Dubai 2026. As USG for Committees at HNMUN‑LA last year, he developed procedural frameworks and supported committee chairs. He has also directed conferences at HNMUN‑LA, HNMUN, and HMUN in Boston. LP is a dedicated member of HOLA, the Harvard Organization for Latin America, where he organizes cultural get‑togethers and promotes regional scholarship. He is also the Programs Manager for the Harvard Crimson’s Business Board, developing conferences and competitions on various topics. LP feels deeply connected to Model UN’s diplomacy, debate, and substantive excellence. He is excited for the resolution‑making in Dubai, which drives his desire to deliver an engaging, seamless experience for all delegates at HMUN Dubai.
Fayyaz Razi
Under-Secretary-General for Committees
Fayyaz Razi is a Junior at Harvard studying Government. He was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, but also spent time in Dammam, Saudi Arabia; Dhaka, Bangladesh; and Singapore growing up. Fayyaz has been involved with MUN at Harvard for over two years, currently serving as Head Delegate of ICMUN, Harvard's traveling, competitive intercollegiate Model UN team. Fayyaz also serves as the Under-Secretary-General for Crisis Committees at HNMUN, Harvard's collegiate Model UN conference in Boston, Massachusetts. Additionally, Fayyaz has directed at HMUN Dubai 2025, HMUN India, HMUN Australia, and previous iterations of HMUN and HNMUN.
Outside of Model UN, Fayyaz enjoys traveling, playing pickleball with friends, cooking with his mom, and watching investigative documentaries on YouTube/Netflix. Fayyaz cannot wait to welcome all of our amazing delegates to HMUN Dubai 2026!
